From: jonathanlerner@worldnet.att.net Subject: Minutes of the April mtng Date: Monday, April 06, 1998 5:28 PM DIG Minutes of the Meeting, April 1, 1998 All members were present except: Kyle Bond, Larry Corse, Jeff Fibus, Phil Horne, Vinnie Metzger, and Steve Weintraub. Guests were Linda Green (second visit) and Roger Drury (fifth visit). · Minutes of the last meeting were approved. · Meeting place: the conference room at the VA Hospital, volunteered by Todd, would work, but is small. We agreed to continue looking for an alternate meeting place. · For the next meeting: · Industry comparisons will be presented for Nike and Andrew. · New stocks will be presented by John Brock; John Stowe, Leon and Jonathan; and (possibly) Ken. · The drug group will begin to track and make presentations on the industry's big companies - so that we can be prepared to snap up any that fall temporarily into the buy zone - and on smaller companies, looking for sleepers. · New stocks presented: · Medtronic, by Danny; not a buy, but he'll keep an eye on it. · Caraustar, by Leon; same disposition as above. · Seattle Filmworks, by Roger; was a buy. · The proposal, discussed by email prior to the meeting, to hold a reserve of money in order to be able to buy stocks we choose before their prices rise, was approved. We decided to hold half the money collected (and already on hand), and with the other half to buy Seattle Filmworks. · Clarissa's request to remain a member of the group although her new job will likely prevent her from attending most meetings was approved; i.e., she was exempted from the "three meeting rule." We will meet at Kaiser again in May. Submitted by Jonathan Lerner.
