The minutes of the previous meeting were approved. The valuation statement was reviewed. Unit value was $11.083. Total value was $10,163.12. The club's education goals were reviewed: Learn how to fill out an SSG; Learn how to present an SSG; Managing the current portfolio; learning how to analyze a balance sheet & cash flow statement. A 'paper' SSG class will be offered at the home of David B. on Thursday 10/16 at 7:30PM. A Balance Sheet & Cash Flow class will be offered at the home of David B. on Wednesday 10/22 at 7:30 PM. The following stocks were reviewed: Adobe* by Gary; Clayton Homes by Todd; ADP* by Tom's EMail; 3COM* by Phil's EMail; Oracle by Miguel; AutoZone* by John Brock. Nike* & Techne analysts were not present, but stocks were discussed with group input of new info. Three new stocks were discussed: Bruce presented Lincare Holdings, Jonathan presented CUC; David Presented Andrew Corp.* * Note: all stocks with an asterisk were discussed as being in the 'buy" or "possible buy" zone. A motion was made and approved to split this month's investments between Andrew & Autozone. Assigned to present SSG's next month: Bobby, Sabrina & Kyle. Discussion about small groups to study and present stocks was tabled until the next meeting. It was recommended that all new SSG's be sent to Todd & David to review, then distributed to all members by EMail a few days prior to each meeting. This will reduce overlokked errors on the SSG, and give all members a chance to review and do their own research on a company to be discussed. Vinnie will take over maintenance of the name & address list from David. All updates to the list should be sent to Vinnie.
